South Dakota

A couple of weeks ago Scotts uncle passed away and we drove out to Iroquios South Dakota for the services. It was good to see family but wished it was for a different reasons.
The boys did really, really well the whole trip, we had a couple of break downs but nothing that was out of control. It was the first time we went made a road trip this long and stayed in hotels. The hotels was intresting for Zane! We took four days to do the trip, which worked out really well. We would stop every so many hours in places we knew Zane could really stretch his legs, eat out of the cooler (weather pending) we had just little melt downs. We got to do a few things as a family and make it fun for the boys plus we made it to the services with the boys being in good moods and got to see family.

Storybook Island and Dino park

Storybook Island is the best place for families and kids (it is free of charge, they just ask for donations, the Rotory clubs of Rapid put it together)! They have made a park with story book that kids can climb on, play in and be kids. It was fun to see the stories that Zane reconized. Again Tyson was just hanging out and taking it all it.

Alot of them are in memory of or donated by. Some of them were sad stories, this fire engine was in memory of some kids lost in a fire. Zane sat and drove it and moved all the levers and showed Tyson how to drive.

This is Pooh play house. He walked to the top and yelled down at me.

He knew cat in the hat and sat still long enough for this picture, which really surprized me or Im just getting really quick with a camera.

He was one cool little dude on the duck!! He loved these animals on giant springs, he sat, held on and got them to move a little.

Im not sure who like the diggers more dad or Zane, but Zane sure watched what dad was doing and then tryed it himself.

Dino park is really neat, a little boy at the top told us that it was 88 steps to the top. Zane walked about 80 of those steps. We did this just before we left Rapid to come back to Billings. Worked he slept past the Montana border.

1880 town and Wall Drug

We stopped at the 1880 town because we knew it was a self guided tour and you do it at your own pace! That way Zane got to take the lead and walk around and run. He did not know what to look at first, he had not seen alot of the stuff they have. They take old building and restore them to the original condition, they have a complete town. It will be intresting to take the kids back when they have had an American history class so they can see what they have learned. I enjoy it for the history and they are always adding decor and buildings.

This was in the fire house. Yes he was this serious the whole time.

Tyson just hung out with dad, looking around sucking on his two middle fingers.

Checking out farm equipment with dad.

Not sure why he is puffing out his chest. the building behind with hotel on the side has a saloon in it with a stage and bar. You can also rent costumes while you are touring it. A few young ladies had outfits on, it looked out of place but yet it did not.

Saw the big cow! They have Texas long horns and a camel around the property, I beleive they have the grand champion long horn.

This is part of the wall drug photos, my camera died so I got very few pictures of Zane. He really liked the buffalo they have on display so I found him a little buffalo to play with. He chewed on the horns, while talking to Tysons monkey.

When we got to Wall Drug it was raining and raining, so we had to find a bench inside for me to feed Tyson. Scott and Zane walked around while I sat in the main shopping area while Tyson had his bottle. It was fun to watch Zane people watch.

Reptile Gardens

The first night we stayed in Rapid City and took the boys to Reptile Gardens. Scott and I had been before and thought that Zane would like the animals! He did for the most part. They have alot of animals from birds to gators! He liked the bird show, gators, turtles and running around in the grass areas!

My favorite flower, orchid. We had one just like this for our honeymoon.

I see fish and turtles.

This flower above smelled like chocolate, I almost picked it and took it home!!

You could pet this snake, Zane looked like he wanted to touch it and when she bent down to let him is pulled away. He still would not touch it after Scott "petted" it. Me, I did not touch it.

They thought the big turtles were neat. Zane just sat down and started to pet them. He knocked on the shell as well, and made a funny face when he touched the skin.

This is a pararie dog town, you can go under it and come up in this little bubble! He was talking to Scott and pointing them all out. He thought they were great. When I told my parents this they laughed because they have a large amount of gophers they are trying to get ride of.

Road Trip!!!

These are random photos of the kiddos during the trip, Zane would read a book drop it on the floor, and ask for another! It made it nice until we opened up the back doors and the toys and books all fell out!! I took lots of things for him to keep him happy and it worked!!

I felt bad, I did take pictures of Tyson, but not as many with Zane running around and doing things!! So I reached around and took a few shots of him while we were driving!! He did really well in his seat. He would talk and coo a lot and of course we had a couple of break downs, but they were minor!
He looked so darn cute sleeping!!

All ready to go with his monkey pillow!!

Fair Time!!

I did not get a whole lot of picture from the fair, but we had a good time walking around and people watching. Zane did really well walking around and behaving himself, he even danced and entertained an elderly couple listening to the band by the water! We bought these sunglasses and it was the best $3.00 we spent!! He keeps them all the time, the up side down was his attempt of putting them on!!

This is kuddos to aunt Sara, when we tell Zane good job, he gives you knuckles! He thinks he is just one cool little dude doing this.

Tyson was a trooper for the whole time! He just hung out and let Zane pick on him, sleep and eat! But Zane did help feed and held his bottle for him one time!!

This was them in the petting zoo! Zane loved the animals, he petted some and was not afraid of them.

Scott also picked up an steer for work one day, I took the boys with and Zane thought the steer was neat and even petted him. It had been a long day and I did not have the camera ready for it, but it was fun to watch Zane look at all the bulls in the barn at Origen when we dropped "patches" off!! :)

Phone time with Grannie

These pictures were a conversation between Grannie and Zane, he told her his life plans! He had to hold the phone and sit in the chair and chat. It started in his high chair and then moved to the living room. He will even hold the phone to Tyson so he can chat as well! It is a fun little thing between Grannie and him.

In code...taking over the house!

I am pretty sure that this is code for taking over something, mom, house world who knows!! But they had a good time talking to each other. The second clip with just Tyson, Zane was watching the back of the camera and helping me hold it, that is why it is moving so much.

Pool time!

This little pool works great for Zane it is small enough he can get in and out by him self, but holds enough water to keep him entertained! He had to make sure Tyson was being played with!!

Playdo!!

Im not real sure who likes to play with the playdo more, dad or zane!! :) But he will sit at his little spider man table in his chair and have a hay day. Scott will sit across from him and help and play himself!! He is pretty good at keep the colors together, but some have been mixed a little bit! This little kit that we got him you can build monsters with lips eys hats feet and arms and he copies dad.
